The Gymnastics
Educational Workshop proudly
honors
Dave's life and his passion and
contribution to the sport.
|
David Moskovitz (1963-2003) was
involved in many aspects of the
sport of gymnastics and will be
missed by all who knew him.
Aside from his many
accomplishments as a gymnast,
Dave was passionate about
educating others and
participated in seminars all
over the world and at several
USA Gymnastics National
Congresses. Dave was among
the staff of USA Gymnastics in
the department of Safety and
Education, where he contributed
to the overall development of
the Safety Certification
Program. After leaving USA
Gymnastics staff, Dave was a
head coach and touched the lives
of the many young gymnasts he
worked with, Dave was successful
with the kids that he coached,
mentored and taught because he
made it FUN. Dave had a
passion for life that was
evident in many ways -
especially in his teaching and
coaching.

David Moskovitz left
this world on
December 12, 2003 as
a result of a car
accident while on
his way to work
early that morning.
Mr. Dave, as he was
affectionately known
as by many, had
credentials but the
heart of his
coaching was way
beyond his resume.
Everything he did,
he did from the
heart. He loved
kids and wanted to
teach them to
appreciate
themselves through
gymnastics. Dave
was so successful
with the kids that
he coached,
mentored, and
taught, because he
made it FUN and he
made them feel
important. Dave
empowered people to
do what they didn’t
think was possible.

Dave had a passion
for life that was
evident in many ways
– especially in his
teaching and
coaching. There is
a touch of Mr.
Dave in so many of
the people and
coaches he worked
with. Dave brought
enthusiasm and a
true sense of
dedication to
everyone that he
came in contact
with. We see it in
the way they
continue to care for
children, the fun
they share in life
with their family
and friends; and
their willingness to
help people through
difficult times.
Dave had no ego to
satisfy. He was
satisfied everyday
by teaching and
coaching kids. Dave
achieved his dream
because he was doing
what he loved and he
reached a pinnacle
in his life by being
a gym club owner.
While many believe
Dave died a happy
man, it is we who
remain that are
saddened or missing
him because we no
longer get the
support, the
laughter, or
enthusiasm for life
he gave us. It is
this memory and the
remaining power of
Dave’s influence
that we must reflect
upon and draw from
to keep him in our
minds and hearts.
By doing so, his
light and spirit
will never wither
away. We must
always look for that
little bit of Mr.
Dave in ourselves
and share it with
others. Then all
his love and work
will continue
through
generations.
